Support and Services we offer

Baby Tracing
In cases where a baby was buried some time ago, but the parents were not told where, we may be able to locate your baby's final resting place within our contacts with all three Ayrshire Councils and Funeral Directors.
For more information on this service please contact us with any and all details you have on the baby and both parents at the time of birth and we will do all we can to help.
Leaflets & Books
We have finished updating our bereavement booklet, with details of the services we offer. But we are still currently in the process of updating our book collection. If you are interested in anything being sent out to you please contact us and let us know.
Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance @ Ayrshire Maternity Unit was started in 1990. There is now more than one and they are kept in the bereavement room at the hospital. The books are in a loose-leaf format and entries are placed in date order. There are two types of entries, one for Stillbirths and one for Neo-natals.
The Book of Remembrance is a place our babies details can be recorded along with a poem or verse. Not only do we provide the completed certificate to place in the book, but we can also provide a duplicate copy of the certificate that can be sent to you for you to keep, if you wish, free of charge. If you are interested in an entry please contact us for more details.
**PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT TAKEN ORDERS FOR MEMORIAL CERTIFICATES AT THE MOMENT DUE TO ILLNESS**
Online Memorial Page
Our Memorial Page is here on our website and is a place that anyone with any stage of loss, miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death, can place an entry for their baby, please visit our memorial page here for more details and to see entries.
Memorial Trees
We have three memorial trees that hold engraved plaques with our baby's details on, for more information on these or to request a plaque please see our Memorial Trees' page.
Remembrance Birthday/Anniversary cards
We would be honoured to remember your wee one by sending a card from us to you on your baby's birthday or anniversary, and/or to put a message up of their name on our social media.
If this is something you think you would like, please click on the link below, complete the form and leave the rest to us.
Befriending
Someone to talk to when you want to talk, who will have an understanding of how you might be feeling because they have been there, and who will listen for as long as you wish to talk.
Befrienders are always available at our support meetings, but they can also provide support by offering telephone support and email support if you find this way the easiest.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to talk, it's why we are here.
Support Meetings
We currently hold both face-to-face and virtual support meetings, for more information please visit our Support Meetings page
