Getting involved with us

There are many ways that you can get involved and help us to support others.  From volunteering at one of our events, sharing our events and details on your social media to get the word out there, to fundraising and helping us raise money so we can continue to offer much needed support to anyone affected by the loss of a baby.

Sponsored Memory Walk

Saturday 9th October 2021, 11am

To launch #BLAW2021 this year we are holding a sponsored memory walk, so please come along and join us on a leisurely walk along the Lang Scots Mile, Ayr Esplanade, with friends and family to help raise money for Ayrshire Baby Loss Support and awareness of baby loss.

To take part you must register first, sponsor forms and a "walk in memory of..." sheet will be sent to you once you have registered.  Those registered will also receive a goodie bag with a t-shirt, drinking bottle, trolley coin, pen, pad and pin badge on the day as a thank you for all your efforts.

Cumnock Funeralcare
Annual Baby Memorial Service

Saturday 16th October 2021, 11am
Baby Section, Cumnock Cemetery

Held just after BLAW21 has finished, Cumnock Funeralcare invite all to their annual baby memory serice.  The service takes place at the baby section at Cumnock Cemetery, and is a chance to remember all our little ones.

Swim Challenge in memory of Cailie
stillborn 15th October 1997

24 miles over 24 days ending 15th October

Gillian, who is one of our committee members, has taken on a swimming challenge in the lead up to Cailie's birthday, swimming 24 miles over 24 days finishing on her daughter's birthday on Friday 15th October.

Past Events

Virtual Duck Race

27th - 28th June 2021

During our awareness month of June, and due to the continuing restrictions around COVID, we decided to hold our annual duck race as a virtutal event.  The race ran from midday on Sunday and finished at midday on Monday.

Congratulations goes to our winner and runners up and thanks go to everyone who took part and helped us raise awareness during this event.

Virtual Easter Balloon Release

1st April - 5th April 2021

For our special launch weekend, we held our very first virtual Balloon Release.

During the Easter Weekend over a hundred balloons, kites and ducks took flight in memory of our precious wee ones.

Easter Weekend Hunt 2021

Raising Awareness

During our official launch we had a fun event for all the family. Over the Easter weekend we placed lots of lovely wooden Stars, Hearts, Footprints,  & Easter eggs, around North, South & East Ayrshire. If you find one, post a picture and tag us! If you find one of only six with smiley faces in the A & B and post to our Facebook page, you'll win a prize!!

Courtney's Birthday Marathon 2nd April 2021


Launched this year on Mother’s Day, Nicola, one of our committee members has been raising awareness and funds in memory of her beautiful daughter Courtney Magdalene Scott, born sleeping on the 2nd of April 1995. 

Nicola completed a marathon (26.2 miles), each mile marking a birthday they have spent apart.

All funds raised will be donated to Ayrshire Baby Loss Support, in the sole aim of helping to support all bereaved parents across Ayrshire.
